Jane Cox will be heading up a “Green Team” within the community of the Church of the Ascension and is hoping to attract some youth involvement. The mandate of the Green Team will be to look at, and implement various changes that might make the Church of the Ascension a greener place.
Jane spoke with great enthusiasm and passion as she brought the congregation up to date on the proposed Ascension “Green Team” pointing out that “A green lens on activities within the church sends a message that we are living in a sacred space with creation.” She believes that the Green Team should start with something small and manageable that would not demand a huge commitment . Jane explained that “the idea is to maintain a steady greening of our sacred spaces, and to enjoy the process, without dashing out in several directions with great enthusiasm and burning out.”
