This little well was made at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76 Sudbury Ontario men’s craft shop.

On Sunday, March 22nd, we put the well on the sideman’s table in the Church for two weeks. The first Sunday, after the 9:00am and 11:00am services, we performed a short skit showing how important this well is to the village. Mothers no longer had to walk many miles to find fresh clean water to cook, drink, and bathe their children in. Instead, they could gather at the well, and while waiting their turn to fill their buckets, they could chat with the other mothers.

Our well only collects coins. Adults put their monies in the base of the well while the children put a coin in the bucket, lowered it down into the well, tipped it out, and then brought it back up for the next child.

We had a lot of fund with this little well. Proceeds were sent to PWRDF.
